The association is driven by leadership that embodies international success. Shri Sarat Kumar Das, General Secretary of the Pencak Silat Association of Sundargarh, is not just an administrator but a celebrated sportsperson and role model for youth.
His recent accomplishment of winning a Silver Medal at the Abu Dhabi 20th World Pencak Silat Championship 2024 stands as a powerful testament to the global competitive potential that PSAS offers its students.

Mr. Sarat Kumar Das is a distinguished martial arts practitioner, coach, and competitor with a celebrated career spanning over three decades, commencing in 1993. His journey is marked by dedication, excellence in competition, and a proven track record of developing champion athletes.
Mr. Das initiated his formal coaching career in 1998 and has since established himself as a cornerstone of the martial arts community. His expertise is not confined to instruction; he maintains an active and successful competitive career.
Foundational discipline is Karate — 2nd Dan Black Belt. Expanded to Kickboxing — 2nd Dan Black Belt and National Medalist. Dedicated 27 years to Wushu — Diploma holder, National Medalist, National Referee & Judge. Cultivated numerous State & National champions.
Currently pioneering Pencak Silat, Indonesian art recognized by Govt. of India — Silver at World Championship and Abu Dhabi 20th World 2024 Silver.
Pencak Silat is a complete martial art and cultural heritage originating from the Indonesian-Malay archipelago. It is more than a combat sport; it is a system for holistic development.
Traditionally, Silat was an integral part of a young person's education, forging character and discipline on the path to adulthood.
Silat enhances self-awareness, discipline, integrity, responsibility, and cooperation. Under qualified teachers, students develop physically, mentally, morally, and spiritually.
